Remaining Wild Cards Announced for the 2022 Dow Tennis Classic

MIDLAND, Mich. (October 13, 2022)

This year's wild cards are just that... WILD! Last week we announced one of the strongest player fields in DTC history yet! We are excited to announce more strong competitors that will be joining them. Joining our stacked field of 9 Top-100 players are Sofia Kenin, and Genie Bouchard.

Sofia Kenin

Genie Bouchard

Sofia Kenin and Genie Bouchard are both talented tennis players in their own right. In 2020, Kenin snagged her first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open, beating the former #1 player in the world. She is the youngest American since Serena Williams in 2002 to capture a major crown. Bouchard has won the Nuremberg Cup, and has been a finalist in numerous tennis tournaments such as the Guadalajara Open, as well as Wimbledon. Bouchard brings a certain level of expertise to the Dow Tennis Classic, and will certainly be a competitor to keep your eye on!

Ellie Coleman

Hometown sweetheart, fan-favorite, and Duke University standout, Ellie Coleman has nabbed a wild card in this year's Classic! Coleman has played in all four Junior Slams and has won multiple US National Championships. She learned to play tennis and was developed by the current Director of Junior Tennis at the Greater Midland Tennis Center, Jared Flick.

An exciting addition to the 2022 lineup is Katrina Scott. We saw this 18-year-old American last year at the DTC battle for a spot in the semi-finals. Currently ranked 149, her career high so far, we are excited to watch this star on the rise!
