Player Field for 2026 Including Top 100 Players, US Open Champion Andreescu, Past DTC Champions Brengle and McNally Announced

2019 US Open Champion, Bianca Andreescu

MIDLAND, Michigan – The Dow Tennis Classic (DTC) is thrilled to announce the player field for its 2026 tournament, featuring an exceptional lineup that includes three top 100 ranked players, past US Open and DTC champions, and a roster of emerging tennis talent from around the globe.

The tournament, scheduled for Feb. 15-22 at Greater Midland Tennis Center, will showcase world-class tennis with Ashlyn Krueger (USA), who returns to the Dow Tennis Classic ranked No. 62. Krueger claimed a WTA 250 title at the 2023 Japan Women's Open and was runner up in the 2025 Abu Dhabi Open. She has participated in Wimbledon, the US Open, the Australian Open and the French Open. In 2023, she became the first American teenager to be ranked inside the top 100 since current world No. 3 Coco Gauff in 2019.

Krueger will be joined by No. 71 Francesca Jones (Great Britain), the winner of two WTA 125 championships, both in 2025, and who this year recorded her first win against a top-15 player at the ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand. Rounding out the top 100 is No. 85 Caty McNally (USA), the winner of two WTA 125 titles, and the 2019 and 2022 Dow Tennis Classic champion. She has won eight doubles titles on the WTA Tour, three of them with Coco Gauff.

A widely known and celebrated player in this year’s field is Bianca Andreescu (No. 228, Canada), winner of the 2019 US Open, who has been ranked as high at No. 4 in the world. Winner of three singles titles, she became the first Canadian, male or female, to win a major singles title.

The field includes four more players ranked inside the top 150: Caroline Dolehide (No. 111, USA), Madison Brengle (No. 115, USA), Himeno Sakatsume (No. 140, Japan) and Darja Vidmanova (No. 141, Czech Republic). Brengle was the 2018 and 2021 DTC champion.

"As always with the Dow Tennis Classic, the level of players we’ll see compete on our courts is remarkable and must be witnessed in person to be truly appreciated,” said Jeff Rekeweg, tournament director of the Dow Tennis Classic and executive director of Greater Midland Tennis Center. “We’re excited to have these athletes, ranging from established professionals to rising stars, right here in Midland. We encourage everyone, even casual tennis fans, to come witness the action.”

This is the 37th edition of the DTC, which is Michigan’s largest professional tennis tournament. It has become a standout stop on the WTA 125 tour and was voted in 2024 as the top WTA 125 event in the Americas and the third best in the world. It is known for its close relationship with the Midland community and Great Lakes Bay Region, including the involvement of local businesses, schools and community groups.
